6th Class 2025-26

6th class did fantastic cycling during September and October. We worked with Cycle right who did an 8 week cycling programme for the whole class. For those who already knew how the cycle, there was a specific focus on road safety. For those who could not cycle, they all learned to do so safely. Every child learned the safety skills required to assess situations on the road and to how to react to them. Also, by teaching children to cycle safely, and by encouraging them to cycle as part of their daily activities, it was putting in place the habit of exercise. 6th did an amazing job, well done!
In October 6th Class visited St. Tiernan's Secondary School. It was a fantastic day. The class looked around the school and they did a cool experiment in the Science lab with Mr. Curry. The class tested the hypothesis that a squash ball gets more bouncy the more it is heated. They heated the ball using Bunsen burners and measured how high the ball could bounce the hotter it got. 6th got to see the fantastic basketball court in St. Tiernan's and they played football on the Astroturf outside. The highlight was meeting past students who had a big smile and a welcome for 6th class! It was a great day!
6th class have been working extremely hard this term. They specifically did super work on their narrative writing pieces and World War 2 projects. Well done to all!
